BASAT Participates in South Asian Cultural Program

Bangladesh Students’ Association in Turkey – BASAT participated in the “History of South Asia” Program organized by MERHABA International Student and Research Association. Along with BASAT, four other student organizations from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka also co-organized the event. The program featured a variety of activities, including country exhibitions, panel discussions, country introductions, poetry recitations, quizzes via Kahoot, traditional music performances, and a showcase of local cuisines, including the ever-popular biryani. The program was vibrant and joyful, with nearly two hundred South Asian participants. The dazzling cultural presentations representing South Asian countries captivated the audience. The panel discussion titled “Future South Asia,” featuring the youth from various South Asian countries, and the quiz competition on South Asia were particularly engaging.

BASAT played an active role in this vibrant South Asian event, proudly representing the Bangladeshi student community in Turkey. Students from various universities in Istanbul participated in this event. BASAT’s Vice President, Syed Magfur Ahmad, represented Bangladesh on behalf of the association at the Story of South Asian Countries event. The Bangladeshi stall showcased the country’s unique traditions and rich cultural heritage. Visitors were treated to authentic Bangladeshi cuisine and a variety of souvenirs that offered a glimpse into the vibrant and diverse culture of Bangladesh.
